Common questions

FAQs.

What's the difference between Division I, II and III of Schedule III?
Division I applies to companies following the Accounting Standards (AS); Division II applies to Ind AS companies; Division III applies to NBFCs — each has a different presentation format, so using the wrong division is a foundational error.
What are the mandatory ageing schedules under Schedule III?
Trade receivables, trade payables (split MSME/Other), capital work-in-progress, and intangible assets under development — each broken into the prescribed ageing bands, e.g. under 1 year, 1-2, 2-3, over 3 years.
What happens to an old "Profit and Loss Account" debit balance under Schedule III?
It isn't shown as a separate line item — an accumulated loss reduces Other Equity directly. Presenting it as a standalone asset-side balance is a Schedule III non-compliance.
