Common questions

FAQs.

Why does the auditor attend the stock count?
To observe the count and test its reliability, because inventory is usually a material balance and the auditor cannot count it all afterwards.
What is the cut-off record for?
It notes the last receipts and issues before the count, so the book stock can be rolled to the count date and compared with what was found.
What if the count is on a different date from the balance sheet?
The count can be on another date if the movement between the dates is tested. Record that work on the file.
