Paste the review points raised on an engagement with who raised them and when each was cleared. Enter an as-of date and an overdue limit. The tool shows what is still open, how long it has waited and which reviewer has the most outstanding.
Leave Cleared on blank for points still open. Dates can be dd/mm/yyyy, dd-mm-yyyy or yyyy-mm-dd.
Set the overdue limit from your own file closure timetable. Check the current file assembly requirements in your standards.

Review comments that sit open past the planned date delay the report and the archive of the file. A tracker puts every point, its reviewer and its age in one place. Clear the oldest first, and look at which working papers keep generating points, because that often shows where the preparer needs guidance.
Each line is one review point. A point with a cleared date is closed. A point without one is open and its age is counted from the raised date to your as-of date.
Open points older than the limit you set are marked overdue. Totals are shown for each reviewer.
The Excel file lists every point with its days open and a column for the preparer response.
A review point was raised on 2 September and is still open on 17 October. The limit is 7 days.
