Common questions

FAQs.

What is a proforma invoice?
A document sent before the sale that shows the goods or services, the price and the terms. Buyers use it to get approvals, arrange advance payment or clear imports.
Can a proforma invoice be used to claim input tax credit?
No. Input tax credit needs a tax invoice, or another document the law accepts, issued at the time of supply.
What is the difference between a quotation and a proforma invoice?
A quotation is an offer for the buyer to consider. A proforma invoice is closer to the final bill and is often what the buyer pays an advance against.
